As technology rapidly advances, we find ourselves in the midst of the next industrial revolution, one powered by machine learning and AI. While big businesses have the resources to keep up with these changes, smaller businesses usually fall behind and as a result, lose profits or go out of business. Our goal is to bring machine learning and ai technologies to smaller businesses and allow the playing field to equal.

Online commerce has generated oceans of data on consumer behavior and trends in fashion
and consumer needs. Unlike their larger counterparts, small businesses lack the time and resources to
obtain and analyze this data, generate domain-specific forecasting models, or monitor their brands
during new product launches. What they need is quick access to this data for little effort and cost.
In the follwing pages, we will demonstrate the ease with which any small business merchandiser can access
online product information and generate meaningful visualizations. This idea, however, is not limited to merchandisers.
We wish for everyone, whether they be a merchandiser or a consumer, to benefit from the information provided here
as well as from the open source material we are eager to share.
We hope that others can build upon this work and make data science more accessible.
In the following section you will be able to see our plan composed of three parts.
Web scraping, also known as web crawling, allows us to recover data from various websites and store the information in a databse. For this particular project, we scraped data from Amazon. The web scraper will look for a product (specified by the user) and collect various information (price, rating, etc.) from that product. This information will then be analyzed using machine learning models.

The data we have scraped will be stored in a database. This data, however, is useless by itself. To extract value from it we must analyze it. To do this, we have developed a machine learning model that allows us to inspect the data we have collected and find intereting and useful patterns within it.

Our goal is to provide a cheap and accessible way for everyone to keep up with the rapid changes in technology. AI and machine learning are fields that have traditionally been dominated by big businesses. However, with this product (composed of this website, our dynamic web app, and our open source code) we will be able to provide ai for all.
